Mysterious Stream returns Man after 20 years

Not much has been heard recently of the Enumabia stream, which flows between Orokam and Owukpa in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue state. Enumabia is spring water that brings fort hot water, and connecting another cold stream to form a warm stream.

The stream came to limelight in the 80s when some spiritual forces within and around it manipulated the Enumabia community, situating within the stream axis . It would be recalled that Children and women at some points were not allowed to go to the stream around 10am, as they may never return home. People have had different stories to tell about the mysterious stream, which was feared by many. Many had lost their children and livestock to the mysterious stream.

However, the recent appearance of one Ochogwu Akogwu who was declared missing exactly 20 years ago has again put the stream on the spotlight as the man was on Saturday evening returned to his family.

Dgr8t investigation had revealed that Ochogwu was declared missing exactly 32 years ago, but surprisingly, he was found around the Enumabia stream on Saturday. A hunter who pleaded that his name shouldn't be in the print found the lost man during a hunting expedition. As at press time, Ochogwu has not spoken to anybody since he re-appeared around the stream. Several questions have been put across to him, yet he only responds by nodding his head.

According to Ochogwu's parents, he disappeared at the age of 12, hence it was easy for them to have recognized him when the hunter brought him to his aged parents. According to Mr Adakole, Ochoguw's father, Ochogwu disappeared around the Enumabia area when he went to the stream to fetch water with his late mother. According to him, even the mother could not explain how Ochogwu disappeared. " Now that he has been found around the Enumabia stream, I just believe Enumabia is done with him, and has decided to return him to us after 20 years. I thank God, and we are still waiting patiently for him to speak to us. He hasn't spoken since they brought him back.

Several attempts to take Ochogwu's photograph for this report proved abortive as his image refused to come out in the camera.
