Boko Haram: 50 insurgents killed in 2 days

In just two days, the Nigeria's military has raided an Islamic insurgent camp through both land and air strikes, a military official had disclosed on Friday.  The official said about 50 sect members have been killed in the recent raid.

The newly formed 7th division of the Nigerian Army, established to repress insurgency in the northeast, participated in the raid. This was as disclosed by the Military spokesman in Maiduguri, the Bornu state capital, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa. He said the attack on the camp also involved a supporting military gunship.  For the past two days, Military helicopters have been seen hovering in the skies near Maiduguri.

The counterattack, according to Musa, took place around Bulabulin-Ngaura and in Gajiram village, where 15 people fell to the dreaded sects on Wednesday at a local market.

"Troops pursued the terrorists to their camps and destroyed the camps with air support," he said.
